01 BUYING & RETURNS
Buying used & new gear
Every item is hand-inspected and function-tested before it hits the shelf, then graded honestly — Like new, Excellent, Good or Fair — with wear noted in the listing.
All pre-owned bodies, lenses and lighting are covered for 30 days against mechanical and electronic failure under normal use.
Used gear: yes — within 14 days, in the same condition with all included accessories, for a full refund. No restocking fee. Details on the Policies page.
No — once a new item is opened it can't be sold as new again, so opened new items are final sale. Factory-sealed items return within 14 days. We review exceptions case-by-case; approved ones carry a 25% restocking fee.
Absolutely — come test it at the counter in Garden Grove. We'll also hold any item for you same-day, free.
Card or PayPal online. Card or cash in store. Sales tax is Garden Grove's 8.75%.
02 SELLING & TRADE-INS
Selling your gear to us
Within one business day of your submission, usually faster — by email from contact@mightyduckmedia.com. The emailed offer is confirmed on inspection.
Yes. Shutter errors, water damage, fungus — bring it in and we price it for parts.
Cash or instant transfer the same day you accept — or take store credit and get 10% more to spend in the shop. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID; it's required for all second-hand purchases.
Yes — accept your emailed offer, then ship it to us at your cost (insured, please — you're on the hook until it arrives). Payment goes out the day your gear passes inspection. Start on the Sell page.
03 RENTING
Renting gear
Send a request from the Rent page — gear, dates, pickup method — and we confirm availability and pricing by email within one business day. No deposit to request. Prefer a platform? We also rent on ShareGrid and FriendWithA.
Typical starting rates: bodies from $26/day, prime lenses from $16, cinema from $95, lighting from $18, audio from $12. Your exact quote comes with the confirmation.
Pickup and drop-off days are free — you're only charged for the full days in between. Friday-to-Monday weekend pickups count as a single day, and weekly rates are available.
A valid government ID and a refundable hold on a credit card. An optional damage waiver is available; renters are responsible for damage beyond normal use.
04 SHIPPING & PICKUP
Getting your gear
Yes, within the US. Shipping is calculated by weight and box size — small orders under 1 lb usually ship free. Orders go out in 1–2 business days with tracking; anything over $500 ships insured and signature-required.
Free — order online and pick up at 12446 Brookhurst St, usually same day during store hours. We email you when it's ready.
